Mississippi River Bridge Construction

Construction continues on the new Mississippi river bridge.  The towers have reached a height of about 200 feet they will eventually reach a height of 400 feet.  A good view of the bridge construction can be found from the Mullanphy Pump House, renovated in May of 2011.  The location is located just north of the Landing at the end of Mullanphy street in St. Louis. photos by Derik Holtmann

Construction on the new Mississippi River Bridge is starting to take shape.  The Missouri approach has part of the road surface completed as the Illinois side is working on the columns and caps that will eventually support the driving surface.  The two towers that will support the deck of the bridge are expected to be completed in early 2012.
